Whites Creek hires Clifton Davis to head football program

Clifton Davis is ready to be a head coach in Nashville.

The Mississippi native has been hired as the new head football coach at Whites Creek.

“It is with great pleasure that we announce our new Head Football Coach at Whites Creek High School. We have Coach Clifton Davis joining the Cobra Community for the 2018-2019 School Year. Without question, I feel that Coach Davis will bring a strong work ethic and new energy to the football program at Whites Creek,” Whites Creek principal James Bailey said.

Davis replaces Ron Lambert who resigned earlier in the offseason and has since been named the new head coach at RePublic high school.

“I want to thank the administration at Whites Creek for this opportunity and I look forward to the challenge to turning around this program. I realize that it is a challenge changing the culture but I am not afraid of hard work. My family and I are happy to be at Whites Creek,” Davis said.

This will be Davis’ fifth head coaching assignment as he was the head coach at Canyon State Academy (AZ), Coahoma Agricultural (MS) and two middle schools in Fairview Middle School in Memphis and West Junior high school in West Memphis, Arkansas.

Davis comes to Whites Creek from West Junior high school in Arkansas where he led the Blue Imps program to an 11-2 record in 2017.

He also led Coahoma Agricultural to a playoff appearance and a region title in 2015.

Davis be the third head coach for the Cobras since 2015 and Whites Creek has a record of 13-67 since 2010 as they finished 1-9 last season.

The last winning season and playoff appearance for Whites Creek happened back in 2009 as the Cobras advanced to the Class 4A Semifinals and finished the year 9-5.

The following two schools are looking for a new head coach: Humboldt and White House Heritage
