Florida native Tyler Gold has been named the new head football coach at Northpoint Christian.
He will be officially introduced next Tuesday, February 19 at a 5 pm meeting at the Northpoint school Cafeteria and all Northpoint Christian parents and students are invited to attend.
Gold has spent the last 15 seasons at his alma mater Evangelical Christian School in Fort Myers, Florida with the last six seasons as the head coach.
He replaces Chris Cascio who resigned after finished 5-16 in his two seasons as head coach.
Gold will have a lot to get done as the Trojans will head into the 2019 season with a 12 game losing streak.
In his six seasons as the head coach at Evangelical Christian, Gold led the Sentinels to a 27-36 overall record as they made two Class 2A playoff appearances in 2014 and 2018.
The Sentinels are coming off a 7-5 season and a playoff appearance.
Before taking over the program in 2013, Gold served as an assistant coach at Evangelical Christian for nine seasons after graduating from the school in 2002.
There are currently 15 programs looking for a head coach they are: Antioch, Bolton, Collierville, Covington, East Hickman, East Robertson, Greeneville, Hamilton, Morristown East, Nashville Overton, Northeast, Tellico Plains, Warren County, Wayne County and Whitwell
