Michigan and Vanderbilt pick up In-State Commitments

The Michigan football recruiting effort continues to be strong as the Wolverines gained a big commitment from the Volunteer State as they landed Lausanne running back Eric Gray on Sunday.

Gray (5-11, 190) became the Wolverines 17th commitment in the Class of 2019 as Michigan currently has the No. 5 ranked class nationally according to 247sports.

The two time Mr. Football winner will head into his senior season with 5,688 rushing yards and 93 total touchdowns and will look to win his third Mr. Football award and help Lausanne to try and win their third straight Division II title and second in a row in Division II-AA.

In 2017, Gray rushed for 3,151 yards and 49 touchdowns and the Lynx will enter the 2018 season with the longest winning streak in the state at 27.

He chose the Wolverines over 26 other offers including Alabama, Penn State, Texas A&M and Ole Miss who were among his finalists.

If Gray signs with Michigan, he will become the fifth in-state player to play for the Wolverines since 1999 joining Nate Johnson (Independence wide receiver, 2016), Blake Bars (MBA offensive tackle, 2012), Sean Sanderson (Farragut running back, 2001) and Phillip Brackins (Gatlinburg Pittman safety, 1999).
