After two seasons at Glencliff, Tate Thigpen has resigned and will head home to his home state of Mississippi.
Thigpen will be the new Offensive Coordinator at Philadelphia high school in Mississippi.
“It’s a good opportunity for me and my family and it’s a chance to get closer to my family especially my parents,” Thigpen said.
“The OC position at Philadelphia High School is an opportunity to work in a great program in a town that loves its football. I’m looking forward to getting there and getting started.”
Under Thigpen, the Colts had back to back 1-9 seasons and Glencliff has not made the playoffs since 2011.
Glencliff is the fifth metro Nashville job to open this off season joining Antioch, Hillwood, Hunters Lane and Nashville Overton.
There are currently nine programs looking for a head coach they are: Bolivar, Bolton, Cocke County, Glencliff, Hardin Valley, Haywood, Manassas, MLK Prep, RePublic and Seqouyah
