The Friday Five- Week 10

By Chad Withrow:

We are down to the nitty gritty of the 2020 season with only 2 weeks left in the regular season. Plenty is left to be decided and tonight offers up a good set of games both in and out of Region. We also have all of these teams covered in one way or another. Click below each match-up to watch, hear or read something about each team. Here are my 5 Games of the Week in the Mid-State for Week 10. It’s the Friday Five.

1) CPA (6-0) @ Lipscomb Academy (6-2)

After a tough start to the season, Lipscomb Academy has been rolling ever since and the challenge for CPA has been cancelling games because of COVID-19. Other than that, the Lions still look like the team to beat in D-II-AA. Donovan Stewart has capsules of every team in D-II-AA and you can read them below.

2) Independence (5-1) @ Brentwood (6-2)

After dropping their season opener, Independence has won 5 straight by an average of 25 points. Brentwood is looking to follow-up an impressive win over rival Franklin with another big Region win tonight.

Click below to hear highlight’s from Independence’s game against Summit from the “104.5 The Zone Game of the Week”.

Read about Brentwood and every team in 6A in Donovan Stewart’s 6A capsules.

3) Riverdale (6-2) @ Warren Co. (8-0)

Warren Co. tries to stay unbeaten and set-up a potential battle of unbeatens next week against Oakland while Riverdale looks to get back to their winning ways after a loss to the Patriots.

Riverdale beat Blackman for the first time since 2011 earlier this year. You can read about it below.

Anna Glenn Grove spoke with Warren Co. Head Coach Matt Turner and star player CJ Taylor in our video series presented by Hunter Briley of Regal Realty.

4) Upperman (6-2) @ Watertown (7-1)

The 104.5 Game of the Week is a match-up of 2 and 3A powers in Wilson Co. Anna Glenn Grove spoke with Watertown head coach Gavin Webster about this game and his team this week. Watch below.

5) East Nashville (2-1) @ Goodpasture (6-2)
