ECS wasted little time naming Jonas Rodriguez’s successor as head football coach and athletic director.
Rodriguez was named the new head football coach at BGA this morning and ECS has in turn named Trey Adams as their new head football coach and Scott Vogel as the Eagles new Athletic Director.
“Coach Adams believes in the mission of ECS and has a deep desire to see it accomplished in our football program,” ECS Head of School Braxton Brady said. “His knowledge of the game, combined with his love for our players and school, makes him the perfect fit to be our Head Football Coach. I am excited for him to lead our great football staff as they seek to impact the next generation of young men for the glory of God.”
Adams is a 2004 ECS graduate who has spent the last two seasons as the co-defensive coordinator along with Vogel for ECS.
“Very excited about the opportunity to coach and develop young men at my alma mater. Jonas Rodriguez did a tremendous job of laying a great foundation and I am excited to hit the ground running with our incredible staff,” Adams said.
The past two seasons under Rodriguez the Eagles posted a 13-10 record and two Division II-AA playoff appearances in his time at the Cordova school.
The Eagles are coming off a 9-3 season as ECS lost to Lausanne in the Division II-AA Quarterfinals.
Before coming back to ECS, Adams also has coaching experience at Christian Brothers where he was the defensive backs coach and at Briarcrest where he served as the Saints defensive coordinator.
After playing at ECS, Adams played college football at both Memphis and Delta State,
There are currently six programs looking for a head coach they are: Bolivar, Bolton, Cocke County, Haywood, Manassas and MLK Prep
