Streak Going Into 2017– one game winning streak

Eagleville will enter the 2017 season as the lone Rutherford County school on a winning streak after ending their regular season in the W column.

Although the Eagles missed the Class 2A playoffs last season, they did cap the season off on a good note hammering Community 48-8 in the season finale.

Now Floyd Walker enters his second year as head coach of the Eagles on a one game winning streak and hopes that positivity leads to forward momentum going into the 2017 season.

Eagleville has 14 returning starters (seven on both sides) and none are bigger than junior signal caller Ethan Cobb.

Cobb, will be starting his third season at quarterback after throwing for 3,322 yards with 27 touchdowns in his first two varsity seasons.

The Eagles only played nine regular season games last year and Cobb passed for 1,465 yards and 17 touchdowns for Eagleville.

His favorite target will also return this year as senior Graham Hatcher turned in another solid season last year as he caught 50 passes for 959 yards and nine touchdowns for the Eagles as both he and Cobb were all-region selections for Eagleville.

In 2015, Hatcher was the leading receiver in Rutherford County with 52 catches for 919 yards.

Joining Cobb in the Eagles I-Formation Offense will be senior Josh Wallman at fullback and Chase Bright at tailback. Antonio Turrentine and Bryce Lane will also get carries at running back.

Junior Avery Sparks will join Hatcher at wide receiver while senior Lytton Haley (TE) will join Aaden Leathers, Tyler Reid and Cody Lane on the offensive line.

Defensively, the Eagles will rely on a lot of two-way stars as Leathers, Reid and Cody Lane will also play on the defensive line while Wallman, Turrentine, Haley and Bryce Lane will play linebacker.

Bright and Sparks will also see time on defense as they will lead the Eagle secondary.
