After leading the North Panola (MS) football program to 43 wins and four playoff appearances in four years, Carl Diffee is ready for the challenge of the Milan program.
Diffee was announced as the new Bulldog head football coach replacing Teddy Pettigrew who resigned under pressure three weeks ago.
The Bulldogs made the Class 3A playoffs both seasons under Pettigrew, going 8-5 and making the 3A Quarterfinals in 2018 and the Bulldogs finished 6-6 losing to Wooddale 19-16 in the second round and his overall record at Milan was 14-11.
Diffee led the North Panola (MS) to four Class 3A playoff appearances including back to back semifinals in 2017 and 2018 and the Cougars finished 8-4 this season.
His overall record at North Panola was 43-10 as the Cougars made the second round of the playoffs in 2016 and 2019 as well as the semifinal trips in 2017 and 2018.
“Coach Diffee took an unsuccessful program at North Panola and all he did was win football games. At the same time, he is exactly the kind of coach we want our young men to play for and be impacted by. I think that the Milan community will be excited to get behind a physical and exciting brand of football that will build on the foundation of excellence that has been established over the past 50 years,” Milan principal Greg Scott said.
Currently there are 12 schools looking for a head coach they are: Camden, Cheatham County, Clinton, Goodpasture, Harding Academy, Lincoln County, Loretto, Overton, Pigeon Forge, Red Boiling Springs, Siegel and Station Camp
