The Week eight schedule is usually reserved for critical region contests and this week in my best nine games of the week we have those as Coalfield takes on Greenback (2-1A), Boyd Buchanan travels to Meigs County (3-2A), Wilson Central goes to Franklin (3-6A), Shelbyville meets Independence (5-5A) and bitter Division II rivals Brentwood Academy and MBA lock horns.
The most interesting games this week are the non region contests that featuring ranked teams across the state as a battle of Class 5A ranked teams as No. 2 Oak Ridge travels to No. 7 McMinn County.
The most intriguing matchup happen in West Tennessee as a first ever meeting between Dyersburg (No. 6 in 3A) and Adamsville (No. 1 in 2A), Haywood County (No. 4 in 4A) entertains Oakland (No. 2 in 6A) and Milan hosts USJ in a public-private matchup.

Keys to the Game- A battle of two of the best teams in Class 1A with the winner taking first place in region 2-1A which is the toughest region in 1A. Coalfield got a big win over previously unbeaten Harriman last week to set up the matchup with Greenback, the 1A runner up from last season. Junior quarterback Parker McKinney leads the Coalfield Offense, while running back Kayne Roberts powers the Greenback offense.

The contest will be the first ever meeting between the two schools as Dyersburg will help to get leading rusher Deshaun Fields back after he missed last week.
