By Chad Withrow:
The offseason for football players has become less about rest and relaxation and more about the opportunity to improve. Those opportunities occur daily, but there are some opportunities that don’t come around that often. That’s why I’m thrilled to announce one of those opportunities for TNHighSchoolFootball.com readers and supporters.
Football University is a division of All-American Games that conducts regional and national events such as the All-American Bowl, National Combine and the Football University National Championship. They are a group that’s been dedicated to helping kids succeed and has provided over 40,000 student-athletes with experienced, position-specific technique training from Former NFL coaches and players. In 2018 alone, FBU will be hosting over 20 Regional Camps in cities across the country, with a focus on helping student-athletes hone their craft on-the-field with position-specific technique and safety training as well as film room review sessions. FBU alums include current Tennessee Titans QB Marcus Mariota among many others. One of their 20 regional camps is coming to middle Tennessee on June 2nd and 3rd at Independence High School in Thompson’s Station. “I Couldn’t be more excited about the upcoming FBU Camp in middle Tennessee this summer” said Matthew Lauer- Director of Player Development. “The talent, and the people in general, throughout this entire state are absolutely fantastic. The families in the local communities we’ve been able to speak with already have been extremely receptive and excited about our camp. I’m hoping that through our partnership with TNHighSchoolFootball.com, we’ll be able to reach even more people in this great state and truly showcase what Football University is all about. We aspire to help kids succeed through the game of football, both on & off-the-field. With almost 20 hours of football education and training from Former NFL players and coaches, every single kid who attends our camp is going to get better. Nothing else out there even comes close.”
Cost to attend is $495 and it is a non-padded camp (linemen are encouraged to bring helmets if possible). All rising 6th-12th graders are welcome to attend. You can get more info and apply for the camp here:
We are excited to announce a terrific opportunity for players, coaches, parents, and family members that are readers of TNHighSchoolFootball.com. We are offering up one FREE camper as selected by our football panel. If you know of a player that can benefit from this camp that you would like to nominate for the free entry, please email me at email@example.com . We will announce our five finalists with five different stories profiling each of the exceptional young men chosen. I encourage coaches to nominate at least one player from your team. Every player in the state of Tennessee is eligible. We will profile the stories of the players and coaches involved with this incredible event in the coming weeks with a series of stories, videos, and podcast. If you are reading this, you are being presented with an opportunity to get better or help make someone else better. I hope you take it.
