Daniel Duncan will become only the third head football coach at Scotts Hill.

Duncan served on the Lion staff last year and was officially named as Michael Stroup’s replacement today.

“I’m excited about my new position and will continue to build on the foundation that coach Stroup has set. This team will continue to progress forward,” Duncan said.

“The support of the administration parents and boosters is amazing. Cannot thank them enough for the opportunity. The assistants on staff are amazing at what they do. We will continue to set these athletes up to succeed on and off the field.”

Stroup left to take the USJ job last month after he led the Lions to a 24-22 overall record and three Class 2A playoff appearances in his four years at Scotts Hill including the only first ever Quarterfinal round last year as they finished the year at 9-4.

Duncan, 30, has also been an assistant coach at Huntingdon, McKenzie and Lexington.
Currently there are two schools in Zion Christian and Kenwood looking for a head coach.
